Debbie is a qualified Physiotherapist & Clinical Pilates Instructor and loves the integration for rehabilitation and conditioning. She has a postgraduate diploma in physiotherapy and acupuncture and is a qualified Steel Pilates Practitioner. Debbie has worked with Ponsonby, Auckland and South Auckland rugby league teams & assisted at North Harbour Club netball with physiotherapy and sports massage. Prior to physio, Debbie completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Sports & Exercise Science at Auckland University and was teaching at her own branch as a qualified ballet teacher until 2009. Debbie enjoys performing arts, as well as a good game of rugby.
Kirsty Murray - Senior Physiotherapist (BSC Hons), Diploma Orthopaedic Medicine, Certified APPI Pilates Instructor, Accredited Acupuncture Practitioner (AACP UK)
Kirsty graduated in Physiotherapy from Queen Margaret University Edinburgh in 2006. Since qualifying Kirsty gained extensive experience working in the UK initially within a variety of settings, then since 2010 solely in the private musculoskeletal sector in Edinburgh, where laterally Kirsty worked as a Team Lead Physiotherapist.
Kirsty is a Certified Pilates Matwork Instructor through the APPI and since 2010 has enjoyed teaching matwork classes and furthering her Pilates training and knowledge including ante and postnatal teaching experience. Kirsty’s elite Sports Physiotherapy experience includes working at the 2012 Olympics in London, 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and working for 4 seasons within Premier 1 Division Rugby in Edinburgh.
Kirsty is excited to have joined ReAb after relocating to Auckland with her Kiwi Husband. Her particular clinical interests include orthopaedic rehab, sports injury rehab and combining her Pilates experience with her “hands on” Physio skills to facilitate recovery, optimise performance and reduce the risk of re- injury.
SOPHIE LAX - Senior Physiotherapist
Sophie is an experienced musculoskeletal and women’s health physiotherapist, with over a decade of industry experience.
Since qualifying from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2008, Sophie has developed skills through experience in both the public and private sectors. This diverse experience has provided her with advanced clinical reasoning skills enabling her to treat a wide variety of conditions.
Sophie is passionate about keeping up to date with the latest research and has completed numerous accredited courses. She commenced her Pilates training in 2009 with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI), focusing on deploying Pilates as a tool for rehabilitation. She has since become fully certified through APPI and Polestar Pilates as a rehabilitation practitioner and teaches one-to-one Pilates and group classes on all equipment.
Sophie completed her acupuncture training with ALIED in 2014 and utilises acupuncture in the treatment of back and neck pain, pelvic pain, sports injuries and arthritis.
She finds the use of manual physiotherapy with Pilates to be an effective combination in the treatment of acute and chronic injuries. She is specialised in the treatment of back and pelvic dysfunctions, sports injury, tendinopathy and pre and postnatal problems.
Having worked at the highest level of physiotherapy in London, Sophie moved to New Zealand with her fiancé in February 2019 and is excited to be working at Reab.
